The LeapPad3 comes with a rechargeable adapter and a lead to connect to a computer for downloading games and uploading images and videos taken with the LeapPad. I was looking everywhere for a substantial 15 minutes and didn’t find anything online of how to factory reset the tablet without the parental password. There is also a home button on the front of the tablet which means your child can get back to the home page at any time.

Once installed you can connect the used LeapPad to your computer and the connect software should see it. Personally, this isn’t something I wanted my children to use, so it is another reason why I opted to disable wifi via the parental controls settings. Recently she has discovered Lula Ladybird (a maths and spatial awareness game) and Secret Agent U which is a game for slightly older children to build basic computer literacy skills with some very basic software, hardware and networking concepts (I admit it, I was won over by the geekiness). It has a 5“ touch screen that can be used by finger or the pen supplied and has a powerful quad-core processor so is very fast.

We are a Leap Frog family, owning many of their products – so I was excited to get our hands on the new LeapPad 3. When the MomSelect team offered to let us try out the new Leap Frog LeapPad 3 – I checked it out and knew it was a perfect fit for Maggie. It is a big improvement and one which I think will mean that we use the Leappad as much as, possibly more than the family iPad. LeapPad 3 is the high-performance, fun-packed Wi-Fi tablet that allows kids to learn and play in a way that's just right for them.

The LeapPad 3 has a built-in rechargeable battery (power supply also supplied) so no need for constantly replacing batteries and gives up to 6 hours of use without recharging (with wi-fi off). It has been thoroughly drop tested to ensure that it is tough enough to withstand continual use by children in the home. My son is two years old and this thing is mean for 3-8 year olds and none of the games on it are meant for two year olds.Just thought I might throw that out there, it's not nice, but it's ridiculous that he won't give you the code!
