The addition of the new smaller door sizes has allowed us to give customers more information regarding using two small doors for a larger cupboard where space is at a premium, true flexibility linked to imagination = a problem solved.....result. The book can be read as a standalone, but if you need them, there are summaries of the previous books here. Rebecca Price was 5 years old when her elder brother Conrad went missing on her birthday. Her life changed from that day – her parents never got over his disappearance and emotionally they disappeared from her life too.

The closed door makes a final separation between those inside and those outside. There are none sort of in and sort of out. While there are gradations of rewards for those who are in and gradations of punishment for those who are out, there is a great chasm fixed between the two (Luke 16:26), with nothing in the middle. You won’t be basically in heaven because you’re a basically good person. Either you’re in because you have entered through the narrow door, which is Jesus Christ, or you’re out because you have trusted in your own goodness or in the fact that you’re a church-going American Christian. You need to examine yourself and carefully answer the question, “If I were to stand before God and He said, ‘Why should I let you into My heaven?’ what would I say?” The only correct answer is, “I am trusting completely in Your Son Jesus and His shed blood.” I absolutely love an unreliable narrator when done right. There are so many thrillers that rely heavily on this trope while not doing it particularly well. But Harris used the trope so deftly, and I truly felt as though I was making Rebecca’s discoveries alongside her. And the difference in tone between the Rebecca of her memories and the one telling her story to Straitley was fascinating. There were times when I couldn’t tell if there was a supernatural element to the book, or if that was simply mind games being played on or by the narrators. That balance was kept on a razor-sharp edge that delighted me to no end. I was honestly more than a little in awe so how well Harris balanced every aspect of this story.Jesus is asking, “Are you striving to enter the narrow door? Are you making your salvation a matter of deliberate and sustained effort? Are you sure that you’re entering the narrow door as defined by Jesus and not a broad door of your own choosing?” You say, “Whoa! I thought that salvation is a free gift, received simply by grace through faith, not a matter of our effort. How does this harmonize with striving for it?” Consider one last passage. In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never KNEW you. Away from me, you evildoers!”

Rustica’s Adoorable Doors are 44 ⅛ inches high and only 22 ⅛ inches wide, giving the functionality of a door to the smallest of spaces. Does a Closet Have to Have a Door? There is no hard and fast rule that a closet has to have a door. In fact, some designs may be benefited by opting for an open closet that makes use of a well-designed closet organization system with shelves, drawers, and hanging solutions. At the same time, it’s always nice to have the option to hide your closet, especially when it gets a bit messy.Overall, I knew I’d love this and I do. Joanne Harris is one of my favourite authors, she is a superb writer of compelling and immersive books. Although this is Malbry #3 (Gentlemen and Players, A Different Class) it is an easy read as a stand-alone. It’s a well deserved five star read in my opinion. I’ll say more about missing the deadline in a moment. But for now, I am making the point that if you follow the crowd you will not follow the Savior into eternal life. Jesus says that there are many (and He is talking about the religious crowd) who will not enter through the narrow door. If you follow them, you will be shut out when that door slams shut. And, it always takes effort, both mentally and morally, to go against the majority. You have to think about matters for yourself and decide, “I will not follow conventional wisdom. I will not go along with group pressure. I will follow the Lord Jesus Christ.” Here at Express Doors Direct, we have everything you need to get your doors looking their best. Take a look at our selection of door handles, hinges and door frames to help you get your door hung in no time, without having to search across the web to find all the hardware you need. The third novel in the Malbry trilogy, A Narrow Door is a sequel to Gentleman and Players (2005) and Different Class (2016). This entire series has been an enthralling read, as Joanne Harris writes haunting psychological thrillers. Dutch DoorsIf you’re looking for a way to flood your space with natural light but are not sold on a traditional glass folding door, consider using a Dutch door. Dutch doors are horizontally split in two, allowing the top half to be open. Opening the top half of the door essentially acts like windows, letting in natural light and visually expanding your small space. While Dutch doors are commonly seen as single doors, you can also install them as double doors, giving an even wider opening to visually expand your small space. These double Dutch doors can easily serve as patio doors for a small space. Dutch doors are an ideal alternative for small playrooms, as the top half can be open for light and air, while the lower half of the door remains closed, keeping small children from wandering out of the room. This also makes them a good choice for individuals or families with pets that need to stay indoors.

Our Lord did not say, “Good question! Let’s divide up into groups and discuss what each of you thinks about it.” To pool the group’s thoughts would only increase speculation. Jesus wasn’t interested in speculation about theology. He was concerned about the personal salvation of His hearers. So, rather than opening it up for discussion, Jesus gave a command that applied the question to His hearers’ hearts: “Strive to enter by the narrow door.” I am discovering Joanne Harris with a different angle and am positively surprised how good she is when writing thriller/mystery. The first book I read from her was Chocolat, quite different from those series. Harris is as always a master of prose, suspense, and twists. Few detectives will keep you awake like this. Thriller writers should take a leaf out of her books. Discuss: We are too casual about salvation because we have disregarded the biblical doctrine of hell.

Jesus says “Strive to enter in at the strait (narrow) gate” (KJV). The word picture here is of an athlete giving his best to win the contest. This means “to contend,” “to labor fervently,” or “to struggle against.” Following Jesus is not easy. This is why the gate is narrow. In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus says, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” I believe the road that leads to heaven is narrow because only a few choose to truly follow Jesus. Most people choose to follow the crowd because following the crowd is easy—everyone is doing it! That is why the road that leads to destruction (hell) is wide. Which road are you traveling on? How can a person who is unsure about his salvation gain true assurance? How can we know that we’ve entered through the narrow door? Again, picture the Olympic athlete. He makes winning the gold medal the focus of his life. Everything he does is controlled by his goal of winning the gold. He won’t eat anything that is not good for him, because it might hinder his muscles from performing at their maximum on the day of the race. He doesn’t go to parties and stay up late the night before, because he wants to be rested and ready to give everything to the race. He will refrain from engaging in fun activities that his other friends enjoy, such as skiing or playing softball, because he doesn’t want to break his leg or tear his ligaments. He is disciplined to work out for hours, often when his body is screaming, “That’s enough!” because he wants to win. If you're on a tight budget, our clear pine options feature a beautiful woodgrain, while our white-primed doors offer a compromise between the convenience of fully finished door and the lower cost of unfinished.
